EXPERIENCE THE DIFFERENCE
Supersharkz Swim School was founded in 2007 by siblings Mark and Marilyn Chua, driven by their lifelong passion for swimming and a desire to make a difference in how the sport is taught in Malaysia. As former national swimmers themselves, they understood firsthand the value of swimming not just as a sport, but as an essential life skill that builds confidence, discipline, and resilience.
Having grown up immersed in competitive swimming, Mark and Marilyn experienced how the sport shaped their lives both in and out of the pool. It gave them structure, purpose, and opened doors they never imagined. That personal journey inspired them to create something more than just a swim school. They wanted to change the way people learn to swim making it more effective, enjoyable, and inclusive.
Supersharkz was built on that vision: to make swimming accessible to everyone, from young beginners to aspiring athletes. The goal has always been simple yet ambitious to create a world where every human swims. Whether it’s helping a child feel safe in the water or guiding an athlete to the podium, every lesson at Supersharkz is grounded in passion, purpose, and a deep belief in the power of swimming.
Today, Supersharkz is known for its progressive teaching methods, dedicated coaching team, and supportive learning environment. What started as a small initiative has grown into one of Malaysia’s most trusted swim schools, continuing to impact lives one swimmer at a time.

On a mission to make a difference in their country, Mark and Marilyn founded Supersharkz and created a structured way of teaching swimming, the S.U.P.E.R. Method, which included important water safety skills. Revolutionizing the way swimming has always been taught in Malaysia, they designed a syllabus that had clearly-defined skills and levels, making it fun and engaging for students to learn, and explicit for parents to understand what exactly their kids are learning.
It was also crucial to Mark and Marilyn that their students learned the four competitive strokes the correct way. As elite-level coaches, many swimmers whom they have coached could not achieve their full potential in the sport because of poor foundational skills developed when they first learned to swim. Similar to how a building without a strong foundation would collapse if we tried adding more floors to it, swimmers will not be able to execute higher-level skills if they did not have a strong base.
